The United Property Owners of the 8.5 Square Mile Area, Inc. has successfully demonstrated that our communities' strength is the resourcefulness and involvement of its residents.

This involvement by the residents of our community has led to the decision to establish a charter school that will offer local students an opportunity for a challenging academic program in an environment that celebrates our communities' rich heritage and unique qualities.

Miami-Dade County has approved our application to open the school in August 2004 for the 2004-2005 school year and we need your support.

The Board of The United Property Owners of the 8.5 Square Mile Area will be the official governing unit of the school, and has already selected the site which is within the community.  The Board will be assisted by a professional education services firm to ensure compliance with local, Federal and State laws and to provide support to the school administration. A separate committee will serve as the School Advisory Committee and a Principal or Director will be hired for day-to-day oversight.
